So a friend calls today... Know anyone who might be interested in my Ruger New Vaquero 7 1/2" 45 Colt for $375? Said I'll take it! Gotta love it when a plan comes together...

Got out and shot it today. Hits just a skosh low at 50' using my "cowboy" load: 260 lead RNFP at 850 fps. Pretty much on center, which is always nice with fixed sights. If it keeps being low I'll file down the front sight a bit and get it right on top.

If you use a heavier bullet at moderate velocities, you'll raise the impact of the bullet w/o resorting to filing on the front sight. I suggest trying some 280 and 300 gr bullets and see if that will fix your problem. Used to be 475Guy add about 2000 more posts
