Hi all, I have two boxs of Black Talon 44 mag 250gn that I'm thinking about selling. Anybody know what they might be worth? I'm thinking about putting them up on ebay or gunbroker. Can you send ammo via the post office? or UPS?

Not sure what price you can get, but that ammo will do a number on whitetails.
you can ship via UPS, not sure about USPS or fedex

You won't be able to sell them on Ebay. They don't allow live ammunition to be sold as a part of any transaction. I was going to include some with a Contender barrel that I sold, and they made me re-post the item without the ammo.

Can you peddle this ammo at a gunshow? Perhaps you have a friend with a table at a gunshow who would display and sell them for you? This would be the EASIEST on everyone. Or just take them to a show and sell or trade with someone for something you do want.

Unfortuneatly we don't have too many gun shows around here. It looks like I could sell them on Gunbroker and ship UPS. I'll have to take some pics and put them up. I'm sure they'd work great for hunting, but I'm into heavy cast bullets right now. I picked them up before Winchester quit selling them to the public. I wonder if I saved them for another 10 years if they would be worth much more??

So some of that Black Talon ammo down at one of my favorite gun shops. Had to look twice just to make sure. I wonder if it is back in production.

Don't get your hopes up fir a big sale. There's still plenty of it around. Fact is it's pretty average stuff. The media is what gave it a great reputation, not field results.

Went to a gun show yesterday and one vendor had 4 boxes of 44 Black talons. His asking price was $35.00 per box.

At gun shows I have paid 20 bucks a box for 9mm and 45 auto black talons and I did pay 25 bucks for a box of 44 mag.

Winchester now makes "platinum tip hunting ammo"
in .41 mag 240 grain , .44 mag 250 grain , .454 casull 260 grain.

I would think they are similar in price.
