I don't expect to need either, but the area I will be hunting this weekend in the Texas Whitetail deer opener is LOADED with feral pigs. My only 2 pistols (other than .22's) are a S&W 66-2 .357 Mag (4" bbl) and a Glock 22 40S&W. I know lots of local guys like .45 ACP hardball for pig hunting with dogs...for those in close finishing shots. Seems like a 165-180 grain truncated cone FMJ in the .40 would have similar results. I shoot the Glock a LOT more than the revolver, so I am more confident in it as well. Suggestions or preferences? Experiences? Thanks!

If you were hunting the pigs I'd say use the 357 for accuracy and velocity, but it sounds like your looking for the "in a pinch" gun. In this senario I'd say use the 40. It is also pretty deadly and you will be able to fire more rounds twice as fast. Not to mention you said you are more familiar with this gun. Goodluck!
