Yup, ballisticly they are the same, and they should work better in my revolver by virtue of the longer case. I am planning on buying them when I am near the end of this box. At this rate, that should be soon! Big Grin

I keep thinking about pulling my .454 and offing the little buggers! I have one that has taken to my garage downspout.

But my bride holds to no discharge of guns in town, and the cops do also (though I think he would use a 12 gauge on the ones in his yard if he could).

And all this time I was thinking you were just an exhibitionist.

Hey Whit,

Thanks for the comic relief. After returning from Alaska, I need something to cheer me up!

Marko, PLEASE quit shooting those huge animals! dancing I am against what you are doing 100%. You are coming to shoot at least 2 deer this season and you are filling your freezer up before the season opens.
You better start eating fast so you have some room! jumping

Whitworth, I take it you like that model 617-6. I just picked up a new 617-6 yesterday and as your post confirms this one will be one of my best investments yet. Just can't wait to start dispatching those pesky varments around the house. Rodney.

Rodney, it's a great piece that I enjoy thoroughly! It's a .22 but it's every bit the Smith & Wesson that my .44s are! thumb

The 617-6 is just about an exact copy of my model 586 in .357 mag. Same barrel contour, sights, frame and grips. The little .22 will give endless and inexpensive practice. Think I will get started today. Rodney.

After a couple of chipmunk-free weeks, I spotted one in the yard this morning! I grabbed my revolver and shoes, and low crawled to the back door (hey, they spot me when I move behind the big window sometimes!). I eased it opened, leveled my Smith & Wesson, and waited for a shot to present itself. No such luck as he bugged out. So, I sat in a chair outside and waited when I saw another one, but he didn't come into range. Well, I got a phone call and had to go inside. When I came back, I sat and waited and low and behold, he came back. I rushed my shot a bit and caught him a little too far back and he took off running to my left. I snap shot at him and caught him in the head -- DRT! Not even a twitch.......Dang, I'm getting good at this! jumping

Your Virginia chipmunks must be different than the ones we have up here. I have tons of them around my yard and they don't seem to do little if any damage. Rabbits, deer, possums, and skunks raise hell with the yard/garden/orchard but the chipmunks - no.

Squirrels are fun around the house too. One chewed the gas line on my truck in half. The neighbor lady has had at least 15 gas lines replaced and they ate up the whole wire harness on her car.
Mice do a lot of damage. I had an engine fire when a mouse built a nest next to the EGR valve. They also love to chew rubber and anything else, like insulation.
Squirrels are eating the side of a neighbors log house after they sprayed it for bugs. They will eat an aluminum tree stand to pieces.
All of them will chew wires in your house. They are just rats in different forms! dancing
