I have a Ruger Super Redhawk in 454 Casull and have been using the iron sights as well as a Burris Fulfield 1X scope. I would like to try a scope with more magnification. Any suggestions or experiences would be great. Cam

The Bushnell Elite 3200 2-6X has worked well for me on my FA .454.

I used a Weaver 2.5x-8x on mine for some time, and it worked quite well. That big Ruger is so accurate it really deserves a good scope. I've subsequently gone back to irons just because a scoped revolver of that size is so clumsy (just my opinion) that I found that I didn't always pack it around as much as I would have otherwise. Now that it's back to it's original naked condition, I find that I drag it along a lot more than I did before. YMMV!

I shoot the 500 S&W and I have a Leopole scope on it. It is holding up good so far. It is 2x handgun scope.

Well Sir, I can offer a bit of insight as to a pair of scopes that are NOT capable of handling the Ruger 454. The pics below are of a Tasco World Class variable that was utterly destroyed by my first SRH. Absolutely bent, battered, locked up power ring,,,AFU. In about 50 rounds. Victim number two was a Swift 4x. Lasted 200 rnds until the reticule dropped out. I now have a pair of Ruger 454's and they both wear Leupold 4x EER scope's and seem oblivious to the recoil.
