I'm licensed in Canada to carry handguns for protection while I'm in remote wilderness areas.

I carry 10mm semi auto's with 200gr bullets @ 1300fps or 45 Colt's with 330gr Jae-bok Young cast bullets @ 1300fps and now Ruger SRH 454 Casull 360gr Cast Performance cast bullets @ 1520fps.

I had at least 70 black bears close to me this year alone, average distance was about 30/40 yards away closest within 10 yards and the furthest 200 yards.

Carry the gun that shoot's the most powerful bullet and that you can shot fast and accurately.

Obviously I'd pick the 45 Colt.........

If your thinking double action, maybe take a look at the New Ruger SRH 2.5" Alaskan shortie in 480? Big Bullet, Stout Gun, packable.

Out of your choices the 45 but i would prefer me ruger redhawk 44mag loaded with 330 gr garrett ammo
