Has anyone done a handgun hunt on Prince of Wales Island, Alaska? I'm interested in a spot & stalk handgun hunt and I thought this might be a good place to get a good sized bruin.

I have rifle hunted twice but never a hand gun because I had to drive through Canada to get there. If I ever go again I will fly so as to skip the boarder crossing. The drive was great though and I enjoyed the ferry ride.

Kudu - It looks like good habitat for a hangun hunt from the few photo's I've seen. Did you feel there was ample cover to get with 30rds? I understand they get some good sized bears outta there. However, one never can be too sure about outffiiter hype. What did you see? And, how did you do?? Thank You

Your right there are a lot of bears and some quite large taken from POW Island. I have 80 plus right now in my shop from this season! (www.customosteo.com) I can set you up with an easy handgun hunt on the islands of SE Alaska. I have taken the single biggest bodied bear of my life in SE Alaska with a handgun. It squared nearly 8 foot. We have taken all our bears 7 foot square or larger each year. It's not hype you can call the AK dept. of F&W and ask for the outfitter records. Every bear shot must be sealed and they measure the skull and hide square size for thier records. Those records are public information. Email me and I will send you the details if your interested.
