What is your favorite JDJ caliber in a pistol and why.

6.5 JDJ, cause it is super accurate, has zero recoil and it's very efficient. A superb cartridge for game up to deer/caribou that shoots flat enough for 300 yard shots. One of his best efforts. I shoot 120gr ballistic tips at 2400fps...into a single ragged hole at 100yds using a 4x B&L scope and a 14" bbl contender built by SSK.

.375 JDJ.
Why: WIDE variety of applications aross the spectrum of cast and jacketed options. In the early 1980's when I bought mine from J.D., he was working out of his basement. IRON sights, 14" bbl on a Contender frame. When I got good enough to win bets at my gun club hitting Ritz crackers, offhand, at 50 yds I took it to Africa on a "handguns only" hunt as the "big gun in a 3-gun battery. All of the larger game animals I took were shot with the .375, including a tuskless cow Elephant.

.309 & .375 JDJ. One can hunt any land animal on the face of the earth with this combination.

What is the best frame to use? Original Contender, G2, or encore?

It's a matter of personal preference, hand size and finger length. I prefer the original contender with the adjustable trigger, with s/n's above 195,000.

What he said................ dancing

170s for varmints and 300s for the BIG GUYS...

Never had a .411 JDJ but do have a .41/.445 SuperMag by Belhm...a one of a kind barrel that puts a 255 Cast Performance bullet out at 2K fps...

375 JDJ is the one I would go with.

If you're going to make a hole, make it a big one.

6.5, 309, 338JDJ #2, and the 375.

The frame is a personal preference. I prefer the originals. But everybody's hand is different.

There are several great JDJ calibers including the 6.5 & 309 JDJ. But my favorite is the 375 JDJ.
