I walked into my LGS and this was on the bottom shelf...used, but only slightly. Obviously modified (coating). But it was priced to sell, so it came home. Any ideas on the coating? I wouldn't have picked it (the coating) but seeing as how I only paid about 50% of the price of a new pistol, I'm not complaining. My son is out trying to kill a pig with it as I type this, fingers crossed.

Is that revolver magnaported? If so, must be extremly loud, even with double ear protection.

It is. I don't really notice it. It's pretty comfortable to shoot with 350's, but the full house 500's flat out hurt.

I like it!

I'm not really new. I had 1,000+ posts going back to 1996, when I suddenly found myself unable to Log In, in late 2013

The 500 smith is a lot more handy in a single action. I got them with a 4" barrel and a 7.5" octagon barrel. Yours is darn nice though.

I love that 500 smith size. I think the coating looks great as well. Good buy!
