I am looking for a sourse for the 225 swc. Both Reminton and Federal have a load with the 225 swc. But the Vel. is low only about 900. I want to push them about 1200. I could pull factory load and reload to what i want but that is costly and timely. My reason for that load is low recoil and higher vel. So where can I getum. | ||

I know you're talking about 45 .However Speer used to make a 225 JSWCHP which was a great bullet for deer in the 44 mag !!  | |||

You can use a 255/260 grain SWC which is readily available and load it to 900 to 1,000 fps. You have enough penetration for big game as well as not having heavy recoil to contend with. scr83jp, I understood what the guy was asking. I am merely offering him another viewpoint regarding a bullet weight that will be working for him. The reduced velocity means reduced recoil and noise.
