Hi Guys: Ok here is a dumb question. With the 4in Smitty 500 you get two comps. The one with the vent holes in the top is for jacketed bullets. The lil bit longer comp with no vent holes in the top is for led and cast bullets. WHY? What will happen if you shoot led or cast bullets with the comp for jacketed bullets. My guess is you will get some leading coming out the top of the vent holes on the site? The instructions that come with the gun don't even tell you the difference between the comps. Regards.. I don't know, maybe it to reduce fouling on the front sight?? I'll have to take both of them to the range sometime to see the difference in recoil and point of impact.

Using cast bullets in the jacketed compensator will often solder the comp into the muzzle. That makes for fun removal.
