Like me, I also have popped 2 doe's with the 185gr Golden Saber. Loaded to the 45 Super level in a Springfield 5 inch S-ST. Yes this will come apart now and then, had one do about the same thing as you did, but it was a little futher away and did no exit. Found 2 of the pedal's had went in another direction, just off to the one side aways. The other animal I hit in the ear and it dropped. I always carry my 45 when deer hunting in hope's for a close shot, and my 44 R-Hawk while Elk hunting with the 240 Gold Dot SP. But I will alway have a rifle for a back up shot in case what you had happen also did to me with a Cow Elk. I lead it to far and hit the middle of the shoulder. It got back up after it had tilted over, than I popped it through the neck with the Rifle. The 240gr XTP will come apart like the G-Saber, but Ive seen it do worse on a deer shot in the front shoulder. They have made a Bonded Golden Saber for the FBI, that was the initial intentions cause they wanted more penetration. Probably can pick them up loaded in a box of 20-25. I have asked Rem- and no plans of yet to sell bullets only. | ||
