For all of you that doubt how a revolver shoots at 50 yd's. Here are some test groups with the 45-70 BFR and various boolits. The large left target was a sight in for deer. It has two 5 shot groups with a red dot adjustment. The 5 shots are in 7/16".

You don't have to convince me how accurate the BFR's are. I own a 45-70 and 500 mag in the BFR.

Redhawk, although I would like to see your 50 yd or farther groups posted, this was not meant for you. It was meant for the few that say I am full of crap and that they can't get 1" groups at 50 yd's with a ransom rest. Maybe they should learn how to load ammo.
How about 5 shots at 50 yd's with a Ruger Vaquaro?

It makes me feel good that you responded unlike the ones that run me down all the time. They are strangely silent anytime some proof is put in front of them. I am glad I found out how to post pictures here to show them.
Whitworth came over today and we shot for fun out of my ladder stand, offhand. I put soda bottles at a bunch of distances to 50-55 yd's. We shot his SRH .475, my BFR .475 and my Vaquaro. We must have shot between 70 and 75 shots and all told I don't think we missed more then 5 or 6 shots and they were withing an inch or less of the bottles. Very relaxing and after we had some homebrew.
The lady up in town asked the wife what cannons we were shooting! Big Grin

The BFR's are without a dought the best bang for the buck. I said several years ago the the BFR revolvers were going to cost Freedom Arms big time. The BFR"S are very strong accurate and affordable... thumb

OH MY Grace that's a fugly gun!
bfrshooter ya left some powder on the second target but with a barrel THAT long and the targets that close....Hahahahha! Ya got a quick draw holster fer that?

Okay, seriously now, don't ya need more than two rings for optics to stay put?

BTW, on the posted target on the bottom right (the grey one?) it appears that one of your bullets is keyholing? GRIN!

I have to BFR's a 45-70 and 500 Mag. I only use 2 rings and they hold the optics just fine. I don't see a need for more.

It's a really big gun. Do you see that band on the barrel? That is one of the points where he mounts a sling to carry it with!

Keyholing?? You funny guy! jumping

The Ultra Dot is light and does not have a tendency to move. It is very strong too with a hard tube. 2 rings will hold it just fine even on the .475 but I prefer Warne rings on it.
The 45-70 does not have that much recoil.
