You have to ask yourself how much of an exact copy you want your revolver to be. This is the topic of endless debate on CAS/SASS boards. The Beretta Stampede is well made but has a transfer bar. Others like EAA and Ruger have a frame-mounted firing pin rather than on the hammer face. Rugers also have a transfer bar. Ubertis (now owned by Beretta but the two lines haven't been completely integrated yet) have an extra safety notch on the hammer. They and AWA's probably feel and look the most like original Colts. New model Rugers are also about 10% bigger overall in frame, grip, and cylinder dimensions. This is why they are rated to handle much hotter loads than Colt clones. All are very servicable handguns and will work for most purposes. The choice really depends on how "exact" you need the copy to be. | ||
