I'm leaving bright and early in the morning for my Colorado elk hunt. I'm hoping for a repeat of last year's luck. This year I'm using a 14" MGM .308 Encore. I'm getting 2550 fps with a Varget/150 grain Accubond handload. I went 11 for 12 last weekend on milk jugs and 2-liter Coke bottles at 300 yards from field positions so I know the gun is capable. If only I can do my part and hold it together at the moment of truth! Milk jugs and coke bottles don't have big antlers and come in bugling at the top of their lungs!

I'll report back in about a week and a half if I can find my way back to GA!

11 of 12 @ 300 yds from field positions?! That's some damn fine handgunning! Good luck hunting, but you're already an icon in my book.
