Just got back i got 4 animals with my S&W 629 44mag. The shortest at 25yrds the longest a little over 100yrds. All dropped on the spot the wilderbeast got backup but didnt go far. i missed a couple of shots i should have made but you cant have it all. Thanks for the help you all gave here. hunting with a bowhunting PH "Kruger Human" of Kudu trails sure helped with my success as he knew how to get close and the importance of it. Here is a link to my photos. http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/buffsticker/lst?.dir=/Yahoo!+Photo+Album/africa+2002

Tonto, Greetings! What barrel length, and also what grip were you using on that S&W 629? What load[s] did you use to take the animals with? Great pics!

sean The barrel is 8 3/4 inch I shot 230 grain winchester supers. And the grips are the factory hogues. I use open sights but she can group em real tight from 50 to 100yrds. All the animals went less than 20yrds. The wilderbeast went down but got up when I went up to finish the job and it was a terrible shot right in the hams but penatrated all the way to the liver at 100+ yrds. I hit him with a follow up shot not knowing i missed the first shot! dean
