My hunting loads are pretty brutal but VERY accurate. I don't shoot it much. So I am looking for suggestions for an ACCURATE mid range load that will let me shoot it more!I am shooting 400 grain gas checked cast bullets.
Thanks, Peter.

I use 13.0 to 14.0 grains of HS-6 for midrange loads depending on how deep the bullet seats.

Oh Geez, I might have known!!!! Just a term to differentiate target loads at one end and max loads at the other! I thought you NRA geeks used that term all the time!
Good to hear from you!
MS, I have some HS-6 so I will give that a try.
Thanks, Peter.

That's a load that is in the "mid range" between zero and WFO (Wide F'ing open)

bfr, you may be right. I checked my targets and found one shot with 15grs. HS-6. In any case I have loaded up 5 at each of 13.0, 13.5, 14.0, 14.5 and 15.0 so we shall see. Maybe I am retreading old ground here but.... Anyway, mine are gaschecked.
