I am looking for .357 Dan Wesson Barrels. I have a pistol that has no model # on it. I know very little about the gun. I got it from my step-dad who passed away last year. I do know that it does have change able barrels. It has the 2.5 inch barrel on it. I am looking for other barrels for it. Any info would be great. Thanks Ray

Adjustable sights or not. This will help pinpoint model. Do you have the barrel nut wrench? Might try moving this request for parts to Gunsmithing forum and a WTB ad in the Classifieds! LouisB

There are 2 slots that are in what looks like to be a ring around the barrel. The sights are not adjustable. The grip is orignal and screw is in the bottem of the grip. It takes an allen wrench to take it off. I took it out to shoot tonight and shot 2" groups at 40yrds. I knew that they were loud but did not know how loud until I shot this one. Thanks For The Reply Ray

You can still buy the barrel nut wrench, at least for a little while. Other barrels and shrouds (you need both) are available, from 2.5" to 12". As there are other calibers available, ensure that you have 38/357 sets. The front sights are changeable too, so you can fit what you need for the fixed rear sight. FWIW - Dan

The 2 1/2 inch barrel will ring ones chimes in 357 Mag loading. Ear plugs are a MUST have with this barrel. A lady at our range used to shoot a really short barrel S&W 686 and I would move down the line until she was finished. That gun was miserable to be around. Something about the 357 Mag is worse than all, with the exception of pistol chambered in 30 Carbine. LouisB I think you are likely to have the Model 14. Barrels and Shrouds must be purchased as a pair and must be installed with a feeler gauge and the barrel wrench to tighten and lock the barrel in palce.

Check with Mike (aka Mr. DW) as I'm sure that he can get you hooked up. He's also a good guy to do business with! Here is his email... cpklimited@woh.rr.com

Ray, goto http://danwessonfirearms.com/ Check out 'FAQs'/'Old Build Revolvers' and 'Parts & Accessories'/'Complete Barrel Assemblies' links. The current Dan Wesson company is 2 or 3 times removed from the original company, but they will do work on the 'old build' guns, and their barrels will work as well. t c is right about the noise level in a short .357 mag. even the first time i shot my model 13 with the 4" barrel without ear protection it felt like i'd been slapped in the ears. a friend got a dan wesson a few yrs back. went out to the range to see how she shot and was really pissed because the thing grouped absolutely horrible. when he cleaned it he found out why. they had forgotten to rifle the barrel. she was a smooth bore! of course a call to dan wesson was all it took to get a new barrel but his reaction was priceless at the prospect of a 6"shot gun in .38 caliber. THE 2ND AMENDMENT PROTECTS US ALL.........

"y-Marine" Check with E-Bay they have auctions Dan-Wesson parts all the time. Or try Auction Arms I have bought a lot of barrels, shrouds, & wrenches from them. E-Bay don't auction guns just gun parts. Go to http://www.danwessonfirearms.com/ for answers or questions about your gun Swede44mag

I had one of those, with a 4" barrel. My 1st wife shot herself with it. After that it was near and dear to me, and I almost cried when I had to sell it to buy my 2nd wife's wedding ring I sent it to DW and they reblued it, fixed it all up real nice and shiny, and sent me new barrel tools and feeler gage. Be sure and use the feeler gage to set the cylinder gap!
