If you could only have 2 handguns and 1 has to be a 22LR. What kind of 22 and what would your other handgun be. I would go with a Ruger 22 with a 6" BBL the one I have shot great with most ammo and my other would be a Ruger Super Redhawk 91/2 BBL. I think I could take most game with this gun. What is your 2 gun
I would have to say that a High Standard Supermatic Citation would take care of the low end and an old 3 screw Ruger Blackhawk in .45 colt for the big end!!!

I don't hunt big game with a pistol but I have a 1970 era Ruger Blackhawk in .45 Colt that really shoots well. I got 9 straight animals with it without a miss once.
I have a Taurus Mod.94 .22lr five inch stainless that really shoots well, great camp gun. My second choice would be my Taurus .454CA which is scary accurate right out of the box.
Well lets see. First off I would like to have the old High Standard back that some peice off crap stole from my dads house Since that won't happen I'll go for a Ruger single six. I would keep my Scoped S&W Modle 57, 6" 41mag I would like to try one of those Ruger480s, but doubt any thing will ever seperate me from my old trusty Smith. X-Ring
------------------ Praise the Lord, and pass the ammunition!
If your living like there is no HELL, you better be right!
My old Colt Woodsman Sport and Target model 6" for the .22, and my Glock 17 9mm for the other. I have more use for a centerfire pistol for serious social purposes than for hunting, if I may have only one!
i have a question: if you use a contender/encore or any switch bbl handgun, can you have a gazillion bbls for it (in this hypothetical situation i mean, obviously you CAN get a gazillion bbls for it, rather is it with in the guidelines of this situation for one of the hand guns, if a switch bbl to have several bbls for it)?

Curtis_Lemay Well I never though about this. But you could have one gun would be a Contender with all the barrels. That one way to get around the question. That's good thinking
Seemed like a pretty big loop hole to exploit. I guess then my 2 handguns would a contender in 22rf, plus several others for hunting/sporting purposes, and a commander length 45ACP auto pistol for defense.

Colt 1911 45acp with Ciener Target 22 conversion kit. - For self defence and small game/plinking T/C Contender with a variety of barrels for everything else.
A Buckmark 6"bull with red-dot and my 308 Striker. But the Striker is a little difficult to get into my pants for self-defense, sometimes the women stare I guess I still need my 45acp. Does this mean I'm disqualified?
I have a S&W 44mag that does a great job on most things I hunt for in the woods and fields. The other handgun is a Ruger 22LR with a 22mag cylinder that is really a blast to shoot or hunt with as well as being cheap to shoot.
