I am thinking about getting a 41 barrel for my Contender and wondered if you guys had any "extra barrels" laying around.

I haven't seen a Contender barrel chambered in .41 Mag in over a decade. Try Ed's Contenders and see if he might have one.

At one time, guys were having JD Jones ream out their 41 Mag barrels to make a .411 JDJ.

Good luck with finding one.

Thanks Hitman, I would really like a JDJ but only straight wall cartridges are legal in Iowa. I have a Smith .41 and will carry it if I don't run across a Contender barrel. I'll check out Ed's.

Too bad...just read this...there was a mint .41 10" on GunBroker...sold yesterday I think for $185.00.

Watch GunBroker...there have been several 10 and 14" ones on there over the last few weeks and none went for over $200.00. Two years ago they were brining $225+.

If you want a little more horsepower in the straight-walled case, have someone ream the chamber to .414 SuperMag. The longer brass is available and will give you a little more powder capacity and velocity.
