I’m interested in the Ruger New model Blackhawk in 357 or the new model Blackhawk convertible in 357 magnum with the extra 9mm cylinder.

Anyone have one of these and had any good or bad experience with the convertible 357-9mm?

Thanks Vinnyg

90% of the people I seen with the conversion guns almost never use the second cylinder. I have a 22LR/ 22 Mag and never used the 22 Mag cylinder. I would rather have 2 guns. Just my opinion.

True, the 9mm cylinder will never be used unless one has tons of free or cheap ammo to burn. Light .357 loads are much better to play with.

I just purchased the .45LC/.45 auto version, and I'm pleased. And I plan on using both of them, but I do like the logic of "I'd rather have two guns."

I've got a couple .22LR/.22Mag revolvers, and I admit I use the Mag rarely, but it's nice to have.

like an idiot , i traded a 9mm colt combat commander for a ruger 34 bnx... i got a t/c barrel and cash in the trade, too.. the revolver was about $250 on 1985 dollars.... i had lots of 9mm ammo to shoot, the gun shot well for what it was, a cheap wheel-gun... comapered to the colts and s&w's out there at the time... i kept it a couple yrs, then it was traded off... never have missed it....unless you've got just a tremendous amout of 9mm to shoot and have to have a wheel-gun, look elsewhere....i'd rather have a .30 carbine...

Have 2, the 45 Colt with a 45 ACP cylinder and a 22 LR with a 22 mag cylinder, both are Rugers. Never use the 45 ACP, have tried it and it was OK but reloading the 45 Colt is just as good or better. The 22, 22 mag, have a couple of 22 lr revolvers and the 22 lr just isn't as accurate as the other revolvers. The 22 mag is deadly accurate in that revolver so I never change it.

i used to have one- back in the days of dirt-cheap 9mm military surplus ammo- and the 9mm cylinder got 95% of the use. it wasn't any barn-burner as far as accuracy with these loads, but it was plenty fun to shoot!

Thanks very much,
