Redhawk or the BFR: Which would you prefer?

I'm talking about 44 Magnums. If you were wanting a really strong 44 Magnum, one capable of handling heavy loads and lots of them without tearing the gun apart, which would you prefer? And I do mean heavy loads.

I know, it's apples and oranges with regard to their actions but I would pretty much shoot the Redhawk single action all the time anyway.

Comparing barrel lengths, they are probably the same lenth. The BFR 44 has a 5" barrel, the Redhawk 5.5". However, it seems that BFRs measure from the frame so the barrels are probably identical or damn close in length.

Now, the BFR has a 5 shot cylinder so wall thickness will be greater but since when has anyone complained about a Redhawk having a weak cylinder?

Which would you prefer?

I'm a big fan of the Redhawk. Having said that, I am intrigued with the BFR in .44 Mag -- particularly with the shorter barrel. I don't think the strength of either one will ever come into play.

Yep, I'm thinking about that BFR. I've never owned a Redhawk, however, and am leaning that way.

By the way, I went to the range today and the pen that holds the rear sight on the Bisley started to work its way out. I tapped it back in and kept on shooting. The gun really likes those 300 gr. XTP MAG bullets!

Though this is not handgun related, I can't help my happiness. I also took a CZ 416 Rigby to the range. This gun has less than a box down the barrel. I shot some Norma factory 400 gr. Swift A-Frames off of the bench. Iron sights at 100 yards and there was a nice 1 1/2" group. Hell, I shot better with it than I did my No. 1 45/70 with a scope. For some reason, today the 45/70 was vertically stringing the groups. Never had that happen before with this gun.

Anyway....

I've shot a BFR in 45/70 and accuracy was pretty good but it's a pretty big heavy gun; excessively heavy, I believe, for shooting 44 Mag. cartridges in.

I have a Redhawk in 44 Mag. and really like it.

Two different frames -- the .44 is on the small frame, not the stretched frame.

Either gun. The RH is super but I don't like the grip. The SRH is better. Strength is not an issue, it is how you shoot the gun.
For some strange reason the RH likes H110 better then 296 but that is a small point.
I would lean to the BFR. The faster twist of 1 in 16" would let real heavy boolits shoot with lower pressures. It should love 320 gr boolits.

I would lean towards the BFR, just cause it looks too sexy and is probably the strongest 44 revolver on the planet.
