Does a mount that replaces the rear sight exist?

Or is there a better option?

I'm thinking about Deltapoint-ing my Linebaugh .45 Colt 5-shot, or my .500, or both.

At one point, the Leupold scope mount used the rear sight screw hole and required a front hole by drilled and tapped in the top strap for mounting.

Make sure you buy the newest model the older delta points had battery and switch problems.

The leupold rep at the shot show says they changed the design for those two problems

At one point I thought that Linebaugh made a custom mount for reflex sights. You might want to contact them and see what sight and mount they recommend. Some newer reflex sights can fit in a mount that replaces the rear sight. These are common on semi autos but I have not seen one on a heavy recoiling revolver.
Just my 2 cents.

Gary Reeder makes one now.
I'll investigate it a bit more.

Thanks for your link, as well, JG

That Reeder base looks like the nuts. I'd go with it if mounting a red dot on my Bisley.

Weigand has a new small rail that replaces the rear sight, but it increases your optical options. I am testing two right now. I will post up a picture later on.
