This past week-end I made it to the Sheridan, WY area with a friend for three days of intensive prairie dog hunting on private land. Took along my Colt SAA New Frontier 5 1/2" 45 Colt and got a few shots with it. It has the regular adjustable sights, nothing special (rather like my pistol marksmanship!) so I had to wait for the close in ones to pop up. I did manage to kill one at 50 yards which made me feel good. I made up for it later, though: got off five shots at one 35 yards away and couldn't see anything. My sight picture and trigger control were right on and I was mystified by the results. Two hours later, back at the trailer the light bulb finally lit. I had loaded that day with shot loads for snakes and forgot to change out for shooting dogs... Oh well - and how to feel like a fool in one easy lesson.

Nice work! Congratulations! There's a certain satisfaction to using an open-sighted revolver. "Ignorance you can correct, you can't fix stupid." JWP If stupidity hurt, a lot of people would be walking around screaming. Semper Fidelis "Building Carpal Tunnel one round at a time"
