It was done by Gary Reeder, it is a 5 shot Redhawk in 475 Linebaugh. It is his Mastodon series. Can wait to go shoot it. Here is the link to the pic's.

That is very nice. Let us know how the trigger guard does without a filler to keep your knuckle off the steel.

Nice gun, but the web of my hand tingles just thinkig about shooting it.

Is the barrelband front sight a reworked #1 rifle sight? Interesting lines.

That question you might want to ask Gary Reeder, as I don't know. I just know it looks great. If it shoots anything like the Blackhawk Gary Did for me in 475 Linebaugh I will be happy..

The action on this gun is as smooth as silk, and the trigger pull is just right. It is a true work of art.. The gun is perfectly balanced as well.

One day I would love to own one of those. It's absolutely beautiful. Are you planning on taking it out and getting some good hunting use out of it, or will it be staying in the safe except for a few range trips?

When I was looking for a new pistol I thought long and hard about picking up a Redhawk for the Mastodon conversion, but I couldn't bring myself to put down the money. My dad and I had discussed the pistol (he loves it too), and I would get good use out of the gun. He on the other hand said if he got one, it would stay pristine in the safe.

*Edit
Good taste with the duo tone. I usually don't go for two tone guns, but the grips really bring the scheme together.

Oh no, not a safe queen at all. All my handguns go out in the woods hunting. For the past 4 years I have taken my custom guns out black bear hunting. I have taken 3 black bear with handguns the last one was with my 510 GNR custom Blackhawk hunter from Gary Reeder. I take them out deer hunting all the time as well.

I think my 475 Linebaugh's are going to be my most used hunting handgun any more..

I don't mean to be rude, but could you tell us what it cost you to get this done. I'd love to have a pistol worked over like that! It's fine looking. Thanks.

Not Rude at all. $2295 on your gun frame. But check with Gary Reeder it all depends what you want done as well. Here is a link to the Mastodon. http://www.reedercustomguns.co...volvers/mastodon.htm

No need to baby or make a safe queen out of any reeder gun...use it and use it hard...when it looks ugly send it back to Gary for refinishing. He has the only guaranteed for life gun finish there is. Even if your the 10th owner. How can you top that. Guess thats why I own so many. BIGGEST bang for the buck anywhere. Besides that, he is a great guy.

I'm w/ Woodrow S on this. I bought a Winch. Trapper 44 Mag. in 1987 that has the prettiest burl stock on it I have ever seen. You can feel the burl's under you hand. I don't mistreat it, but it's my favorite carry gun in east Texas. And a great shooter. What good is a gun that sits in a safe and is never put in the field! Good shooting.
