What can you tell me about this handgun? a Six shooter, 2 1/2" barrel, very much alike the colt detective ...

Is it a real mauser? Or a Renato Gamba´s replica? Confused

That's a cool revolver! Unfortunately I can be of no help in your quest for information.

According to what little I could find on the 'net; it was built by a subsidiary of the actual Mauser rifle producers at Oberndorf Germany.

The proof marks look exactly as they should. But it's not a real Mauser, it used only the brand ...

Thank you all for your replies... Actually this thread shows my own feelings on this revolver: a kind of jewel whose fatherhood is still in doubt !

PS: the pictures posted aren´t about my own gun, just took them form the web since it was easier & quicker, being found in my own search... my gun is slightly different from the one of the pics, mine having a safe just at the behind the hammer - will post mine pics soon Wink

I'm a suspicious soul. Big Grin Sometimes, things just ring the wrong way. Doesn't seem to me, to fit into the Mauser mould. Are those machining marks, I see on the barrel and frame? Also, is there a design or logo, on the grip medallion. Wouldn't be the first time somebody pulled a little hanky panky.
