Check the 'completed auctions' listing at eBay and gunbroker to see what barrels have actually sold for; listing prices mean nothing.

In my area, Utah, an action for a Contender runs from $200.00 up to $300.00 for those that have collector value. Barrels are just about the same with run of the mill 30-30 and 44 mag averaging $225.00. Those that are in demand or made by one of the custom shops, like Bullberry, run as high as $400.00. It all rides on demand and availability.

Haus of Guns has some G2 actions in stock last time I looked.

They are mostly that here.

If you can get $300 for a action alone that's a solid deal second hand. New ones are typically $375-450 without a stock and add $50-80 for the stocks on a new gun sold from the factory.

Anything that involves a seller who strips the stocks to sell them seperately usually gets 140-280 for a set of stocks depending on what they have.

Synthetic contender front stocks seem to stay together better than synthetic encore stocks. Encore forends get destroyed by big calibers.

Don't go to Haus of Guns, even though it is marked as such it has been hacked and is a porn site now. Glad I didn't hit that one up on the work computer.

Check the classifieds on the Specialty Pistol forum. Lots of used TC stuff on there.
