They are offered in a 4 5/8" barrel or a 5 1/2" barrel.I am not sure which length to order. How about some opinions????I just want it as a woods opportunity gun to carry when hiking or Bowhunting.thanks ahead OB

I'd go with the shorter 4 5/8 as it will carry a little bit more conveniently, not much but a little bit.

velocity is like a new car, always losing value.
BC is like diamonds, holding value forever.

+1

Got one.....love it. Thinking about getting one in 5 1/2 too. You might as well go on and get both. Wink

I bought a 5 1/2" Ruger 44 special Bisley last spring. It is very accurate and has become one of my favorites. I just like the looks and balance of the 5 1/2" barrel.

I have two Ruger old Vaqueros Bisley in 45 Colt and love the frame on both of them for recoil control but like the 5.5" barrel over the 4 5/8".

Personal preference, but you can't go wrong with either. Better yet get one of each tu2

Which barrel length do you shoot best?

Does length of sighting plane affect your shooting?

I personally shoot better with a longer barrel, but I know everyone's not that way.

As this will not be a primary hunting Revolver ,barrel length does not matter. Ease of carry is more important, but at the right price I will take either one.

I picked up the Bisley flat top .44 spl a few months back now, and after having every barrel length out there, the 4-5/8" is by FAR my favorite. Just as easy to hit at 200 yards as my 7-1/2 Hunter, and packs beautifly. It by far get's my vote. The 5-1/2"s are great as well, but I like the shorter ones better. They also look better in my opinion. Good luck.
