I did the the spring change www.gunsprings.com has the springs and www.starlinebrass.com has the 45 super brass. I load the 185gr Golden Saber with power pistol in a Springfield 5" SST with adj sights. Very accurate load combination,1360-80av.fps. I would not try it in Poly type pistols. P.S. Sent you a private measage also.

I did the 45 super conversion on my Glock (new barrel, recoil spring, guide rod, super brass, and powder). I did the 45super conversion to my 1911 Gold Cup (recoil spring, guide rod, super brass, and powder). The brass is the same size as 45acp, but stronger at the web. BTW, Loading 45acp brass to 45super levels is not smart. Yes you can get away with it some of the time, but it may catch up with you. BTW, Check out the 45 super info at www.realguns.com As far as using 45super as a backup gun, I don't know. I will be posting more on this subject. I think bullet selection is limited.

I have a Dan Wesson Patriot. I went to wolf springs web page and bought the 28 lbs spring and it comes with a firing pin spring. I then bought Starline 45 Super brass and loaded it with Power Pistol powder from alliant. I use the 185 TXP at 1200 fps or so (you can got ot 1400 fps) and I stayed there. That is more than enough for me and easier on the gun. BTW this conversion allows for the use of all 45 ACP loads in my gun. It works flawlessly with the exception of locking back the slide to the rear on the last shot when using standard 45 acp loads. However when using 45 +P loads (ie corbon etc.) and 45 Super loads it locks back.
