Max503Tapping TC barrels for scope mounts
I assume the answer to my question is yes. Do you need to drill and tap extra screw holes in TC pistol barrels when mounting a scope on a hard kicker like a 44 mag? If so, do you need one or two more holes?
I am going to use a Weaver style mount on a 44 SS bull barrel.
I have a scope on my 22 Hornet barrel but all I did there was use the holes under the rear sight and it works fine.
I'm thinking of buying a 4x Burris to go on it.
Any other suggestions about mounting the scope?
Thanks

<Paul Dustin>No you do not extra holes. But I would check to see how far the screw go into your barrel on my 45/70 I had to counter bore the base about .010 to .015 to get the screws down more then 3 threads in to the barrel and put loc-tite under the base. this will hole your scope on. I learned the hard way with a scope in the head.
