Hey Gang! I'm looking for a Savage Striker, preferably in .300 WSM or .270 WSM...if anyone has a lead on one, pls. let me know.
I've already checked the gun auctions on internet sites, none I want..so don't suggest that. I just thought maybe someone has one to sell or trade or may know of one somewhere.
Thanks in advance,
Aloha

I found my last two Strikers at the Specialty Pistols website. I have four of them now in .223, .243, 7mm08, and .308. They did make a few in 300WSM, but I haven't seen one yet. I'm not sure I want one in 300WSM, as the recoil of the .308 is pretty stiff with heavy bullets. If you find one, it's relatively easy to change barrels and boltfaces to get the caliber that you want. With the barrel being headspaced with the barrel nut, it's a do-it-yourself job. Instructions and more info can be found at savageshooters.com. Here's a pic of 3 of mine. I just got the .308, so it didn't make the picture.

Hey...Thanks Nashcat & all. I found one in 7mmWSM that should do just fine...
Next question: Savage once made a neat thumbhole stock version...laminated wood...I called Savage & their "lame" reply was the model was discontinued & couln't give me any info on who made the stock for them!? Hey, I've called gun companies & they have pulled out 100 year old data! Now, the turkeys don't want to give out any info...probably because their marketing just wants to promote new stuff.
I can't believe they don't retain info of a product that was discontinued in 2005!
Thanks,
Tom

Tom, my .308 Striker has the thumbhole stock, but it didn't make the above picture. After shooting it for awhile, I found that I really like the laminate thumbhole better than the composite stock. I wish I could help with more info on who made their stocks.

Tembo, The laminate rear grip stock was on the pistol when I bought it. I didn't get much info about the pistol, except that the original owner worked for Brownell's. The best part about the rear grip stock is that it uses a rifle trigger instead of the extended linkage of the mid grip models. Also mine has a Rifle Basix replacement trigger instead of the savage trigger. It breaks clean at 1.5 lbs.
