This is the 4" 41 Mag Scandium revolver.

Recently a good buddy bought one, and we loaded some 210 gr Berrys plated bullets over 7.2gr of Unique. Gun shot good with low recoil, as expected...

However we also shot some Federal 210 Fusion 41 Mag ammo..

I was suprized shocker Recoil was not bad AT ALL. Much less than the 329 with 240gr factory 44 Mag ammo...

For all you 41 Mag Freeks, this handgun is worth a look for a packing revolver...

Yup, that was the surprise I got when I shot jwp's. I was expecting a lot more recoil. The same applies to the 329PD. I shot one with 320s, 300s, etc. and I was underwhelmed.

Yep, I've gone one. Big Grin

Try loading it with some 265gr Beartooth WLNFPGC over 15-15.5 gr. of 2400. Good for just about 1100 fps... It's about all I care to stand for recoil...I can get 6 shots off in under 4 seconds with 6" @ 21' accuracy.

That's my "packin' load" when I carry in the field. Which isn't often. But it's what I pack. Smiler I built the load up to my maximum recoil tolerance for 6 rounds. No more, no less. BTW, cases fall free with no signs of pressure.

I've had very good luck with 215 gr. cast perf. over 7.0 gr. of HP38 for about 925-50 fps.

Easy to carry, not too bad to shoot. Point of note though: I DID have to have the frame on mine replaced (!) when the little steel blast shield on the topstrap started digging into the cylinder. Really wierd. S&W changed it free of charge...feckin' State of Kalifornia required me to re-import and re-register the damn gun at a cost of $75...bastards.

Regards,

Robert

Well, at the risk of being called a prick twice in one day; when are you guys gonna revolt and throw out the commie Kalifornian government? That is ridiculous!

The left has a stranglehold on that state -- very unfortunate.

I have one and I like it very much after I removed the lock. The lock would tye the gun up ocasionaly before I removed it

In the S&W 329 in 44 Mag, I found the recoil of factory 240 gr bullets much worse that 270gr Speer and Federal 300gr Cast Core factory loads...

Prick. rotflmo

Nahhh, hardly a prick. It's simply a statement of fact. I've maintained for decades that Kommiefornia is a state of Mind, not a state of the Union. I can truly lay claim to being a "10%'er". Yep, I'ma Conservative, Gun-Toting, God-Fearing, non-addicted, Free Thinking, Intelligent Human Being.

They call us "Wierd" out here...

I tell all my neighbors that I own a .375 H&H because ONE DAY a Black Rhino is going to come charging up Anaheim Hills Road and I'm going to have to save the President of PITA with a well timed shot to the noggin...

I can dream, right? Can't I?
