Here's my sitaution... I've got a nice thumbreak holster on order for my 500 S&W 4", but it's going to be anywhere from 2-8 weeks before delivery. What to do in the mean time??? Make my own!! I took an old Uncle Mikes holster that I had for my Ruger Bisley, and split the threads so that it was layed open. I measured for the 500, cut to length, and sewed back together. I took a piece of heavy nylon webbing to extend the width to accomodate the larger frame... Works pretty good, and holds the gun very well. Just in case you may be in the same situation, all it takes is an old Uncle Mikes, some heavy duty thread, and a little piece of nylon webbing. Should work until the real deal arrives!!
