Picked up a very worn and not very well taken care of late 80's Premiere grade a couple of weeks ago that had 'project' written all over it. Grips were busted and covered in bedliner...lots O' dings and scratches. After total dis, much wet sanding through the grits, polishing all small parts, pins, screw heads, trigger and hammer... here she is. After stripping, I carved mock finger grooves into the grips to hide the chunks that had been broken....then finished in a matte poly/oil finish I am so impressed with the quality of this pistol. I replaced the internal springs and pins and it is now tight as a vault...no cylinder play. Equally if not MORE impressed with the fine folks that I dealt with at Freedom Arms who go out of their way to talk tech during a busy day. Sent me schematics, shot out parts fast and reasonable. I cant say enough about their service. Cant wait to get her in the field...the price of hog meat just went up!!

It is a very nice looking pistol may I ask how much you had to pay for her. Do you have the before pics you should realy post them so we could get the feel of how much work you did. Let us know how well she shoots. Every time I look at one I drool and say I need one of these. My wife don't understand she thinks it is a waste of money, but if she wanted one it would be ok. Seeing those elegant micarta grips coated with bedliner made me want to cry. She is gorgeous!! I applaud the labor of love that went into turning her back into the elegant piece of functional art that FA revolvers are. What caliber is she? If you are in a bind, I would be glad to send you some of my cast to play with while you wait on Cast Performance. I have an NEI 45 mould in 4-cavity that casts a 310-grain SWC. Would those be of any use (assuming you have a 454 Casull)?

I still shudder at the thought of some dufus undercoating that weapon. The firearm version of doodleing on a Picaso. If you can't smell his breath, your're not close enough!

Wow Doubless THANK YOU for the gracious offer but they are on the way. Even shot some factory rounds through it the other day. What a pleasant round the 454 is through the gun. Bullets, brass and 4-die set ought to be here manana. What part of Tex are you in? Im in Austin, shoot at ARC and on our family ranch in S.Tx. Saw your other post regarding your one-off 654...details we need details THANKS
