So... i do know that the .40s&w is bigger but other than that what else could make me buy one over the other? Also how is the ammo cost scince i dont reload? thanks in advance

9mm is cheaper, enough to make a difference to some people. BUT since you are getting this pistol for SD, you may want to rethink your caliber choices. I can guarantee you that I would not want to be on the receiving end of either the 9mm or 40S&W, but I will double guaran-damn-tee I wouldn't want to be on the other end of a 45acp. But if you must use lesser calibers Wink, then the 9mm would be a more economical choice.

The Baby Eagle from IMI looks like the Witness pic I posted on the other thread. Anyway, it comes in 45acp and might be a good economicle option.
What pistol that doesn't come in 45 are you looking at?
9mm Surplus ammo should be much cheaper to shoot.
Why not get into reloading? Then you can shoot 500 S&W for cheap after the initial investment.

If you get something in 45acp, then you can take it hunting also.

Critter Killer, there are a world of people on here that will teach you how to handload. You just won't have the luxury of them being right at your elbow. So do like a bunch of us did: go out and buy the stuff, and then read, read, read. If you have a question, post it here, and one of us (more than likely SEVERAL of us), will answer it. Just go slow, and don't be afraid to ask!

Have fun!

Critter Killer, I didn't have anyone to show me the ropes when I started reloading. I had thought about reloading for a long time but I didn't have a clue how to get started, but one day while looking at stuff on gunbroker.com I saw a new RCBS Master Reloading kit with a buy now price and I just hit the buy button and dove in. I did a lot of reading and researching but I have not had much trouble at all. I spent a lot more money on equipment and components than I ever dreamed I would, but I love rolling my own and wouldn't go back to buying off the shelf. If you think you want to reload, just do it.

I agree. There's lot's of extertise out there and a lot of it reads these forums. Reloading is easy and very satisfying. There are a few things to remember. NEVER have more than 1 powder or anything else on your bench. Too easy to get the wrong one. When I bought my 44mag years ago, there was a guy down the counter. He asked me if I was going to reload. I said yes and he said "good luck". I told him luck had nothing to do with it. Just pay attention to details and use a good manual or 3. Have fun. I have.
