Has anyone ever tried one of these? I was just curious as to the kind of loads it takes, velocities, and how it handles, or if its even possible to handle. They call them alaskan survival models. I can't imagine being able to hold onto one though. Any thougts?

I thought of getting one for a while. Posted on every handgun forum on the net about it. Was basically told it won't develope much more power than a 454 casull, and of course have less shots etc. That stopped me right there. Karl.

I've never fired one of these things. I usually hate to post hearsay, but I know a guy who does own one and he said the recoil is absolutely brutal. I'll take his word for it. - - - He now 'uses' the gun strictly for those occasions when he can get some unsuspecting shooter to try it. So it now is a novelty item, kinda like laying out a banana peel for someone to slip on. No thanks. Good Hunting!, - - Pointshoot

I shot an o/u derringer 410 once. Not easy to hold and wasn't very accurate the few times I shot it. My friend is trying to talk me into buying one chambered for 357. Don't know how that would shoot, but I imagine shooting 38's would be a better idea with it. Definately neat guns though. ------------------

With 500gn bullets & MAX load of 4198 it would be a great last chance bear stopper IF YOU COULD GET THE BEAR TO SHOOT IT !!
