Trying to decide between a 120 Nosler BT, Nosler Partition, and the 120 Speer? Will be going at around 2400fps-2500fps. Wondering which one works best for hunting? Thanks, Dennis e-mail at dmadriaga@ascg.com
Dennis, The 120 BT worked great on a big bodied buck this year. Distance was 150 yards. My daughter was shooting a 260 remington (light loaded) out of a 14 inch barrel. Haven't chronoed the load yet. xphunter

Dennis, I used a 6.5-284 Win. XP-100 for a bighorn sheep/cow elk both beyond 300 yds. last season using the 129 gr. Hornady SST @ about 2900 f.p.s.--Excellent performance

Dennis, I have killed 11 deer with my 6.5 JDJ using the Sierra 120 grain Spitzer at around 2400 fps. That is the same bullet the Hitman uses in his 6.5 JDJ. All but one of mine were one shot kills. I have had up to 3 feet of penetration on head on shots but I have also had jacket and lead separate. All broadside shots penetrated completely.
