Who has a red dot on a wheelgun???
I've got guns with open sights and some with scopes already.
My new 45LC I think I want a red dot on.
I've been looking at the Aimpoint Micro H1.
Anybody have one or used one???
Pictures are always cool to look at.

I use Ultradots on nearly everything now. About six weeks ago I put an Ultradot 30 on my .500 Linebaugh SRH. IMO, there is not better sighting system for low-light conditions.

I am an Ultra dot person myself, been using them for over 9 years with no problems at all. Got one on my S&W 500 Mag, 475 Linebaugh Custom blackhawk, Redhawk 44 Mag. I don't care for scopes on my handguns so it is open sights or a red-dot for me. I have heard good things about the Aimpoint Micro H1, but they cost a bunch. Eeker

I had a Docter slide ride mount on my open gun - I would think if it held up to that, it would hold up to a revolver...

Can one of you show the holster you use with the dot mounted. I have been considering one for some time as my eyes are going south but have not seen a slick method of carry.

I've considered the Ultra Dot also.
I'm kinda wondering about dot size, the Micro is 4 MOA and I'm not sure if thats too big...opinions?

For holsters: Mernickle can make you one just like many other makers. Or you can be cheap and cut the top out of a holster so the dot can fit...all depends on how much Redneck you have in ya!

Whitworth: are those the standard Ruger rings or did you get different ones. I'm not sure what size comes with a Ruger pistol.
I'm really eyeballing the Ultradot Matchdot
Then again, the Sightron with mutiple dots seems to be the ticket?!

The 4 minute dot is fine. Whit and I have shot too many tiny groups at 100 to worry about it. Many of our groups at 50 are one hole. Just use a target that you can center the dot in.

4 MOA is fine. I have never found it to be a detriment, particularly when hunting.

The rings on that revolver are Ruger 30mm units. They come from the factory with 25mm units, but you can trade them back to Ruger for the 30mm rings.

I recently mounted a Leupold DeltaPoint on my 4 3/4 " .500WE - works great in all light conditions...

With just having purchased a Simply Rugged Loaded Pancake holster for it a scant few months ago, I used my Redneck ingenuity to "modify" a Blackhawk cheapy for carry. Pair of heavy duty scissors and viola! Now that I'm fairly certain it'll stay, I imagine that it will reside in some some premium gunleather going forward.

I've got a Leupold Gilmore Dot on my Anaconda that I sure like alot. I cant fall in love with the B-square as it is awful bulky but it works.
