I don't know that this actually belongs under "handgun hunting", but I need some info. I just picked up a 1911 style 45, the slide and frame are from Crown City Arms. any one heard of them? I checked around for a website and didn't find anything. It seems to be a well made piece, good and tight, has a Bianchi finger groove grip, beaver tail grip safety, and Bomar sights. Shoots, and operates real well. Just curious about the origions. Thanks.

I can't tell you a lot but I bought some .45 parts from them 10-15 yrs. ago. I have never heard anything bad about them. They either made or had made parts and sold them under their name.

Know of two Crown City 1911s bought new twenty plus years ago. Both were absolute junk. Both jammed (locked in partial recoil) using factory ammo on their first shot and required a gunsmith to get them unfrozen. Think they were made from soft metal.

Think Crown City has been out of business for unpteen years.
