It depends on where the bear was. At 30 yards I'd rather have the SA with the heavier deeper penetrating bullet. If the bear was on top of me munching my legs I'd rather have the double action because I'd be pulling the trigger as fast as I could!.

I plan to have my Freedom Arms model 97 in 45 Long Colt with me on my next hunt, unless it's Grizzly Country and then it's probably my Taurus 480 Ruger.........DJ
