I have been evaluating a Nikon 2.5x-8x for approximately 6 months and am quite impressed. The first pistol it rode was a 15" Encore in 308 Winchester. Several hundred rounds were fired with this set up.



Currently it is riding an Encore 16 1/4" 405 Winchester. I have fired around 200 rounds without a POI change nor any other issues.



Eye relief is short on the high magnification end but not as critical as some competitors products. Clarity is on the order of the Leupold.

MSSmagnum...and others, thanks for the information. I'm still trying to decide what I want to get. I'm very happy with a Leupold 2x scope that I have...but want to put a variable power on my SRH .454...most of my shooting is from a rest and most of my targets are paper. I want to see what I can hit at 100 yards with that gun. (Some of you are much better shots than I, so you can do it without a scope at all. Alas, I cannot.)
