I recently ran accross a Ruger Tomahawk revolver for sale. It is a 4 5/8 inch Super Blackhawk customized by Mag-na -port. The gun seems to be well executed and has somewhat peeked my interest.

Has anyone here ever owned one of these guns or know anything of significance about them?

DGR Shooter, i don't know about that one. But i have a Magnaport custom 629-E 3" It's VERY well made. Locks up VERY tight and has the Smoooothest trigger. Needless to say i love it. So, i say if the price is right, go for it. Cool

What do they want for it? There are two on GB now started at $800 and $1300. This is MUCH more than I spent on my new condition .44 SBH. You could also get a used but excellent condition 629 Classic for less than that, maybe with a scope. And for somewhat more, a new FA could be had.

The Tomahawk apparently is a stainless .44 Mag with the magnaport and short barrel, but otherwise an SBH.

They have a tomahawk design on both hammer and frame and what looks like a limited edition number. One on GB has next to the number the initials R.C.A. Maybe an owner's initials.

They were made for the Ruger Collectors Society. They are not big or quick sellers though. Not really an investment either.

Thanks for the input guys, I appreciate the responses.

Shack, the one I am looking at is one of the ones on Gunbroker. I have seen the gun in person, and I like it a lot, but am having a hard time justifying the expense.
