DPhillips, Those look like Jordon Trooper stocks on that gun. Those stocks absolutely hammer the web of my hand on a 4" S&W .44 Mag. I cannot even imagine shooting a .500 with those. Nice gun though.
I had night sights placed ,5.5 inch barrel,I shoot off hand alot out to 25 yards. I will try to shoot out to 50 and then 100 yards just for the hell of it.The recoil on the 500L is not to bad once you get use to it. I have been shooting 475 grain at around 1200fps and have shot with one hand, I love shooting big bore handguns alot of fun, I think down the road I will have MR. Clements convert my SRH to a 500L too. This is a ssbisley. Kev

Yes they do. The cylinder is longer than the original one. Because of the length of the cylinder, there almost no barrel poking through the frame. Since there is so much barrel support in the frame, there will never be any split forcing cones on these conversions.
The frame must be opened very slightly just enough to accept a 1.780" diameter cylinder. The factory BH cylinder diameter is around 1.730" while Redhawk's cylinder is already 1.780" or so diameter from the factory. Out of the ones I have seen from all the custom gun builders in the sixgun circle, Mr. Bowen's 5-shot sixguns have the larger cylinder diameter and some of them measured at around 1.795".
Quote: When Clements, Linebaugh or Bowen make a 475 or 500 do they enlarge the cylinder window at the top and bottom to get a larger diameter cylinder?

Me too. The grips are outstanding with that stainless gun.
My Linebaugh .500 is starting to show a lot of blue wear. Of course 1000 rounds and carrying it around a lot could have something to do with it. Sometimes I wish I had gone stainless.
I saw another pic of the same handgun I have, but in black micarta and it was a beauty.MR. Clements is a very nice person and will take time to talk anything over. Kev

I just sent Dave Clements a Blue SBH 44 to be redone in SW 50 Special (my decription)-1.410" case length,.500 Cal,6-1/2 Bll with barrel band he said about 6 months,I cut down 100 SW 500 cases to 1.410" then trimmed to 1.400", cant wait to see it and shoot it.Will use cast bullets up to 495gr WFNGC at about 1200 fps.
