The double action revolver owners who use heavy weight hunting bullets (300 grain and above) often find it impossible to lower the rear sight to bring the point of impact down on the Redhawk.

This custom extra-height replacement sight is .060 taller than the factory front sight , leaving plenty of room for sight adjustment. Field tested for 44 mag from 300grain to 360 grain and 45 Long Colt from 300 and 420 grain bullet weights.

This sight is made of steel, precisely machined, deeply blued, and has serrated ramp without red plastic insert. It takes several days for a gunsmith to make this custom sight. My price is only $25 per sight plus $3 shipping (first class mail, insured).

For those who would like to do their own custom shaping and finishing, I also provide an unfinished blank sight for the same price.

This sight can also be used for Ruger Super Redhawk and GP-100.

My one beef with my 480 SRH is the red insert factory front blade. That said, even with the 460 gr bullets, I haven't run out of elevation adjustment.

I find the comment tha it takes the smith several days to make the blade somewhat, shall we say, humorous? [Wink] ? I can see producing batches as taking some time through the steps, then plopping them in the bluing tank, but that is a relatively straight forward milling job. It also seems that the in white blank front blades should be less exspensive then the blued.

Paul, Thanks for your comment. The Super Redhawk has a higher front sight ramp base than the Redhawk, thus it has less height adjustment problems. I did extensive shooting tests with 44 and 45 Ruger Redhawks and found that they need a higher front sight to utilize heavy cast bullets above 300 grain.

Speaking about the price, I am aware of one custom revolver maker offering a similar sight for about $35 plus shipping. I am offering a more affordable option for my fellow shooters. My blank sight can be used as a base for building a Keith style long range front sight for Ruger Redhawk, Super Redhawk and Blackhawk Hunter.

I hope this info is helpful.

Jae-Bok.
