This post may technically be in the wrong forum but I know that a lot of you guys hog hunt so I thought I'd try here first.

I've been talking with an older fella that I go to church with. Neither of us have hog hunted and we'd both like to go. He's not up to scrambling up and down mountains (I may not be) and doesn't want to drive as far as Texas.

Any suggestions for decent hunts within a fairly close drive from southcentral KY?

High Adventure Ranch in Tennessee...5000acre reserve...lots of hogs plus other animals. I will be there with my son for 4 days in about a week and a half. We will be using handguns. They can cater to the clients that find it difficult to get around them thar hills. I hear lots of good things about this place and the pricing seems reasonable.

Oh, and in North Carolina there is:

Hog Heaven Outfitters

I can vouch for these guys as I hunted there a couple of months ago and it was a first rate hunt. There's a hunting report here somewhere.

Good luck!

I think it is called Wilderness Lodge. High Adventure Ranch is in Missouri.

I have a colleague who has hunted at Caryonah, and they are pricey. I think they produce good animals for clients, but I have trouble accepting paying a lot of money for an animal that is a nuisance in most areas and that reproduces at such a high rate. But that's just me!

Find a place where you can hunt Hogs over a feeder in a blind.

Tell them you are handgun hunting and want to shoot up CLOSE, 20 to 30 yards.

Tembo...you are half correct. It's The Wilderness Hunting Lodge I wanted to mention. High Adventure Ranch was good too. My son Tyler loved the experience there. He is going along to TWHL with me next week as well.

Woody, Good luck to you and Tyler. Maybe next year we could get together again at Hight Adventure on Gunner's annual hog blast.
