I just dont get the title of this post. If I had this comming at me, I would have head shot the bison....it would have dropped. The bear would have jumped the bison, giving me another head shot on the bear. With both dead, I would have still had four rounds left to go squirrel hunting.

Problem is that in most cases (obviously not in your case, flat top!), the skill and the intent don't mesh.....

Whit; Thats true....in my case, if I intend to hit something I shoot at, you can consider it a hit....and, if I intend to miss...you can consider it missed! Plain and simple, I DO know what I am doing with any firearm....my skill would amaze you!!!!!

Peter; You must be trying to equate how you would feel, to how I would feel....but, I cannot relate to that feeling or the physical discomfort that would follow. Peter, what's to be afraid off? After all a firearms gives one a great advantage. No need to have fear, just a steady aim

Where Peter sees danger, I see a full freezer.... but....can you freeze cooked meat?

I know with my 454 and 340's at 1350 and I am sure a lot of the other big bores on this forum we could just line them both up and get two with one shot

I think you are correct!

Nature should have taken it's course and the bear should have eaten the buf that was really in bad shape.
Shooting the buf for the bear would be good but not in the road! I would not shoot the bear.
