Gary Reeder sent me an email today to let me know that my new 5 shooter .41 is ready to ship BUT... seems that those who have seen it feel that it should be posted on his web site. In order to do that shipment would have to be delayed until Tuesday. I told him to go ahead. He is calling my gun "The Green Machine". My new gun is going to be a star.

Congratulations! That must add some excitement, and raise your expectations about the job he did on it, nice to know the smith is proud of the job he did on your gun.
So is that his 41 round? Is it based on the 44 mag case? I've heard all the raves about his 357, but haven't heard much about the 41, anything you could share would be appreciated.

.41GNR is a .44RemMag full length necked to .41 = .44RemMag+50%
.41GNR#2 is a .445SUPER full length necked to .41 = .44RemMag+100%
My new SGH (The Green Machine)is a duel cylinder 5 shooter in .41RemMag and .41GNR. I haven't gotten to work with the .41GNR yet but I do already have a 14 inch scoped Contender in .41GNR#2 also from Gary. I have had it since AUG 00 but I haven't shot it yet (long story). I have been working loads using 250-280 GC hard cast bullets from BT and CBP. I have been using 110/296, 4759, 4227, 1680 and 680. I think 680 is going to be the way to go in this big round. My two sons have been shooting everything that I load as fast as I load it. They have been killing junk trucks, phone poles and cinder blocks. Heaven forbid that either one would shoot a string through my Chrony. From watching them shoot I'd say and they have said that recoil is much less than like level rounds from my 45-70 Contender. They have both said that it is very easy on the hand and wrist. They both killid 300lb+ pigs this past January. Two at less than 30 yards and one at a bit over 100 yards. All three dropped at the shot and were pass through low/middle front shoulders hits. I have a feeling that the .41GNR#2 is going to become my do everything round. I know I can get 2100FPS with a 250gr bullet and I'm pretty sure I can get 1900 maybe 2000 with a 280. Only work with the Chrony will tell and that can't happen with me until November. I have always liked the .41RemMag. A S/W 657 was my very first hunting handgun. Killed my first handgun deer with it in 1991. I knew the first time I pulled the trigger that there was alot to the round and have liked it to exclusion of others ever since.
