Good for him! I don't think a 310 was necessary, any well constructed 240 would have done the job, certainly on a bear that size. Good performance and it shows that with a 44 you don't need expansion. | ||

I freind of mine shot a 180lb bear with a 310gr LFN harded lee .429 bullet. Push with a near max load of H110 at over 1300fps. The bullet entered the rt side of the neck exited the at the last rib on the left side. They said every thing was mush on the inside of the rib cage. The exit hole was around 1.5 inchs in dia. The range was around 40 feet. It was is first bear and he wanted to shoot it with his dads .44 as it is getting towards the end of season he is a happy camper. | |||
