In 1967, Hugh O'Brian (Wyatt Earp of TV fame) came to Vietnam with a USO show. Part of his schtick was to call someone up (me) to demonstrate his quick draw. He opens the gate and spins the cylinder slowly to show me the gun in completely empty. Then he faces me and he tells me he can draw his pistol faster than I can clap my hands together twice. He had me clap twice several times as he wanted me to do it faster. Then he stood facing me and told me to do it as fast as I could. My second clap had the barrel of his pistol between my hands and I was simply amazed that anyone could be THAT fast.

But I've seen Munden and I've seen the video. I'm in awe of the speed of his draw, but even moreso as his aim and ability to hit two different targets in that split second is almost beyond belief. Did you see him break the egg at 100 yards with a snubnosed .38? That ain't shabby either.

Even with slowing the video down; he's utterly amazing. If I could shoot a 1911 like he does, I would.

Hitman, that 1911 firing sequence is hard to believe if you didn't see the shell casings afterwards, isn't it? I wonder if his trigger finger isn't actually faster than Jerry Miculek

From what I've seen, he's using his left trigger finger and holding the 1911 with his right. Regardless, it's real fast and equally accurate.

Hey Whitworth,

Flanagan's got some video footage on Youtube of shooting targets. The guy is good with a scattergun. Reminds me of descriptions of the trick shooters around the turn of the 20th century.

Did you guys see the "fastest reload" video on YouTube. I have seen it before and I am still not sure whether it is legit! What do you think?
Incidentally I had a friend who was into fast draw, and he was able to execute the "Yul Brenner test" from Magnificent Seven where you have to draw before the person can clap his hands. Pretty amazing if I hadn't seen it myself... Having said that, fast draw is a world unto itself. the gun is lighter with the barrel being replaced. I believe they shoot wax bullets, and, as you saw from the video clip, the gun is twisted rather than drawn. Notice the piece of bent steel under the holster!
Peter.

Yes, I have seen the mag change video on youtube. I saw Rob Leatham give a demenstration at the 06 Shot Show in Vegas and I do not believe that their is much difference in speed between the 2...

So, jwp, you are saying it is legit. If so, that is amazing. The dropped mag. is about at belt level, when the reload is completed.
Peter.

I don't know if the you tube video is legit or not as I beleive that it claiims to be the fastest. I just remember how fast Leatham was and that it is possible IMHO
