| Jayco, they're running around $800-$825. I was going to buy one online so that I wouldn't have to pay tax, and I could have saved $40-$50 minimum but it wasn't worth the hassle to me and the wait so I talked the local shop down so that I didn't take such a hit. I paid $825. You can find them online all day long for $800, but then you have to have them shipped, pay for the FFL transfer, etc. I've even found a few that were $750, but wasn't lucky enough to snag one at that price.
They now have 3 models, a 4 inch model (*good god*), the standard model which has an 8 3/8 inch barrel and then the Performance Center version which has a 10 inch barrel. All 3 have compensators (muzzle brake). The gun truly is massive and the only way to put it into perspective is to look at it in person.
Magnum Research is chambering their BFR revolver for the 500 S&W, but I never really liked the BFR's. |

| 475 what kinda scope did you put on your 500 i have 1 also and i am really looking at putting a scope on it
i have only taken 1 boar with this gun so far a 20 yard shot with iron sights got him right on the shoulder
but i would like to put a real nice scope on this gun because i would like to be able to reach out a bit with it
would the bushnell handgun scopes do the trick i know the red dots will but i want a scope not a red dot. |

| I think I'm going to leave mine unscoped for a while, but I'm looking at maybe getting a Burris Speeddot 135 for it down the road. I have to get this thing paid off first! |

| That's a slick looking gun. Very nice.
JRO - What load are you using for the 350 gr. bullets in your 500? I'm currently using 40 gr. of Hodgdon Li'l Gun which I think should put me in the mid 1800's somewhere, but I haven't had a chance to chrono them yet. |

| I use alot of the 270 gr bullets. I have loaded some 320 gr bullets at 2002 fps, 350gr bullets at 1912 fps, and 400gr bullets at 1725 fps. but it been so nasty around here and I sighted in a new rifle that next nice warm day I'll try my reloads. I want to use this revolver to go boar hunting this summer. Thats why I'm waiting for some warm weather. |

| Not a S&W, but I received my 500 S&W Encore barrel the other day. I'm still breaking in the barrel. I am going to try some 400gr hard cast bullets after I get it broken in. 16.25" bull barrel w/brake |

| I'm using LiL'GUN 42gr.=1912 fps. I would say 40gr would probably put you at around 1821 fps with the 350 gr bullet. I want my bullets to go as fast as they can if I use them for hunting so I my as well get used to the recoil. Thats why I load them so fast. |

| Excellent group! I was able to do about that good, with the 350 gr. Sierra's but that was off hand, single action. No way I could do that well shooting double action. Atleast not without a lot more practice. I've got 50 fresh rounds loaded at the moment, and this weekend that's what I plan to do. Practice. Regards, Tom |
